Well done to everyone who took part in the Cromwell District Cub Scout Swimming Gala on Saturday 19th November, held in St Ives. It was another great example from our 4 girls and 5 boys, plus the leaders who took the time to allow them to take part, of how much fun scouting can be - especially when you get so many Cub Scouts together.
One of our teams won the Ann Nicholl prize, a new award dedicated to the memory of a brilliant local leader, for a race involving ball skills and boating! They also managed to come 2nd place overall in the gala, bringing home 2 trophies!
And just to top that, Kaa (Martin) came top in the leaders’ race - showing that adults too have fun!
The great news for the 9 Cubs who took part is it counts towards various badges (like the Staged Swimming Badge and the Teamwork Challenge Badge) as well as towards the Centenary Challenges currently being completed - all from just joining in this 1 event.

Well done to all our Cubs and leaders that represented 1st Fenstanton & Hilton Cub Pack at the swimming gala. it sounds like you had a fun evening and what a brilliant result I am so proud of you all, parents please let your child know from me. Martin (Kaa) a winner too, what great way to start your leadership career with our Pack. It's a shame I was unable to be there and cheer you all on (maybe next year?) A massive thank you to Jo / Martin and parent helpers for volunteering to take the Cubs to this event, ?
